Size (with materials given) about 30″ tall

Materials:
4 ply worsted weight yarn: 8 oz. black, 2 oz. off white, 1 oz. orange, 1 oz. yellow,
felt scraps: green, black and red
craft glue
polyester stuffing
crochet hook size E

GAUGE: 9 sc = 2 inches

BACK:
Begin at tip of hat, with black, ch 3.
Row 1: SC in 2nd ch from hook and in next ch. Ch 1, turn each row.
Rows 2 and 3: Work even-2 SC.
Row 4: Inc 1 sc in row-3 SC.
Rows 5-10: Repeat rows 2-4 twice.
Rows 11 and 12: Work even-5 SC.
Row 13: Inc 1 sc each side-7 SC.
Rows 14-16: Repeat rows 11 -1 3.
Rows 17-19: Work even on 9 SC.
Row 20: Repeat row 13.
Rows 21-23: Work even on 11 SC.
Row 24: Inc 1 SC each side and at center.
Rows 25-27: Work even-14 SC.
Rows 28-30: Repeat rows 24-26.
Row 31: Repeat row24.
Rows 32-37: Work even on 20 SC.
Row 38: Inc 4 SC evenly spaced across.
Rows 39-44: Work even on 24 SC.
Row 45: Change to off white, work even.
Rows 46-53: Work even.
Row 54: Dec 1 sc each side.
Rows 55-57: Work even on 22 SC.
Row 58: Repeat row 54.
Rows 59 and 60: Work even on 20 sc.
Row 61: (SC in 2 SC, work next 2 sc tog) 5 times.
Row 62: Work even on 15 SC.
Row 63: (SC In 3 SC, work next 2 SC tog) 3 times.
Row 64: Work even on 12 sc. Cut off white. Join black; ch 30.
Row 65: SC in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, SC in 12 neck sts, ch 30.
Row 66: SC in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, SC in each SC across 70 SC.
Rows 67-75: Work even.
Row 76: SC in 48 so. Ch 1, turn.
Row 77: SC in 26 SC. Ch 1, turn.
Row 78: Work even on 26 SC.
Row 79: Inc 1 SC each side.
Rows 80-87: Work even on 28 SC.
Row 88: (SC in 6 SC, 2 SC in next SC) 4 times.
Rows 89-96: Work even on 32 SC.
Row 97: Inc 1 SC each side.
Rows 98-105: Work even on 34 SC.
Row 106: Inc 1 SC each side. Work even on 36 so for 24 rows. End off.

LEG:
Row 1: Sk 6 sc on bottom edge; with off white, SC in next sc and in each of next 7 sc. Ch 1, turn.
Rows 2 and 3: Work even on 8 SC.
Rows 4 and 5: With orange, work even.
Rows 6 and 7: With off white, work even.
Rows 8 and 9: With orange, work even.
Row 10: With black, Inc 1 SC at outer edge.
Row 11: Work even on 9 SC.
Rows 12 and 13: Repeat rows 10 and 11.
Row 14: Inc 1 SC at outer edge, ch 2.
Row 15: SC in 2nd ch from hook and in each SC-12 sc.
Rows 16 and 17: Repeat rows 14 and 15 -14 SC.
Row 18 (form heel): SC in 4 SC; ch 1, turn. Work 4 more rows on heel. End off.
Sk 1 SC next to heel; SC in 8 SC, 2 SC in next SC, ch 3. SC in 2nd ch from hook and in next ch, sc in 8 SC, work 2 SC tog - 11 SC. Ch 1, turn.
Work first 2 SC tog, SC across.
Work 2 rows even. End off.
Sk 8 SC on bottom edge; work 2nd leg in next 8 SC, working to correspond to first leg.

HAND:
With off white, work 9 SC across end of arm, leaving 1 row at bottom of arm free. * Work 3 rows even. Dec 1 SC each side of next row. Repeat from * once. Work 1 row even-5 SC. Work 2 SC tog, SC in next SC, work 2 sc tog. End off.

FRONT: Make same as back.

HAT BRIM:
With black, ch 52. Sl st in first ch to form ring.
Rnd 1: * SC in next SC, 2 SC in next SC, repeat from * around.
Work 4 rnds even. Sl at in next SC. End off.

NOSE:
With off white, ch 7.
Row 1: SC in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch. Ch 1, turn each row.
Row 2 and 3: Work even on 6 SC.
Row 4: Dec 2 SC evenly spaced.
Rows 5 and 6: Work even on 4 SC.
Row 7: Dec 1 SC.
Row 8: Work even on 3 SC.
Row 9: Dec 1 SC.
Row 10: Work 2 SC tog. End off. Sew up side.

FINISHING:
Sew front and back tog with matching yarn and overcast st, stuffing as you sew. Sew hat brim to last row of hat. For hat band and sleeve trims, with orange, work in rows of 2 SC until right length. Sew in place. Work collar the same on 3 SC. Sew nose in place to center front of face. Cut strands of yellow yarn 12 inches long. Knot strands singly around sides and back of head in first off white rnd of head. From felt, cut green semi-circles 1 inch diameter and black circles 1/2 inch diameter for eyes. Cut red crescent for mouth. Glue in place. Glue yellow yarn over eyes for eyebrows.
